When the Judge sentenced me to ten years in State prison
My pride wouldnt let me cry
No tears fell from my eyes
I knew I was flyin high with angels on my side
I never looked to the sky and ask for repentance
I trusted in God and embraced my conviction
Life is hard behind them solitary walls and barbed wired fences
Scarred hearts become so religious
Its now senseless to beg for forgiveness
The only way to change the pain
Is to pray for redemption
Life is filled with millions of missin pieces
When you cant see the picture
Dont be afraid to call on Jesus
God understands the bad decisions
And mistakes you made
If you aint in a grave
Then you been saved

You came into my life when I needed to be saved
When I needed someone to save me from drowning in my tears
My heart has been ripped apart so many times before I knew you
My mind has been torn apart so many times before you knew me
With the agony dividing my body and soul
I cant give you all of me
Until I put myself back together again
I need a shoulder to cry on
An ear that really listens
A voice that speaks
But can be silent when I ask
I need a hug
I need to feel the warmth of concern
I want to be stranded on your island of love
Every disappointment opens up past wounds
When the emotions begin to overflow
Will you be there to stop the blood?
Why is it so easy to see the end before you begin?
Why does loving you feel like committing a million sins?
To love you unselfishly is like going to war without being armed
